Comments:
My grandfather used to own the White House Saloon in Randsburg and also worked at the Yellow Aster Mine, he built the family house in Johanessburg and my mother and all but one of her siblings graduated from Randsburg High School, her youngest sister graduated from Burroughs High in the late 60's and I graduated from Burroughs in 1976.  My mother worked at China Lake for 44 years when she retired, my father was a 100% disabled veteran and was the commander of the D.A.V. for many years. My mothers Maiden name was Courson, my father met my mother after accepting a teaching job at the elementary school in Johanessburg in 1956, they got married and moved to China Lake when the Navy offered my mother a house on base at 52B Decatur street where they lived for over 22 years before buying a mobile home and moving out to the trailer park on Inyokern Rd.

I have so many wonderful memories of growing up in China Lake and Ridgecrest and would gladly share those stories.

Comments:

I was born and raised in Ridgecrest, my mom was born on the base and my dad's family moved there when he was 3 years old.  In one of the Ridgecrest Now pictures I can barely see my dads barber shop in the background, (Furnish Bros. Barber Shop).  And in another of the photos (page 5) there's a picture of a front door on a home with stained glass windows on either side, and in the breezeway another window...my mom made the windows, I was there with her when she installed them.  The big one is an Indian dancing, and the two smaller windows are feathers off of his costume.

Well Sharon and myself have been married for 15 years now, she lived out in Inyokern for the 1st 2 years of our marriage then I retired due to my Job on Base being contracted out thanks to Pt. Mugu. Worked for Ciba Vision, Inc. over in Duluth, GA for 9 years then they started having money problems (according to them) so I got laid off and have been looking for and in and out of small work assigments since April of 2008.

We are hanging in there every day and day by day!, the Lord is good!
