Comments: Wayne B. Here is a response to your question. "I live in Kernville, and I too have fond memories of the lodge. I understand that the owner burned it down for insurance purposes, then got caught, but rumours fly where I live, and you cant really believe them. He would be crazy to burn such a nice cabin." I am one of the daughter's of the former owner, now deceased, Harvey Krueger and I can tell you that he himself did NOT burn down the lodge. The prospective new buyer which was making payments to Harvey burned it down when Harvey passed away. The property was never paid in full. I am quite angry that this happened since I started waiting tables in the early 70's and was hoping that one day I would be running the lodge. I am planning on moving back to CA within the next year and I plan on looking into the prospects of resurecting the lodge, if at all possible.

Comments: Just in case anyone is interested, my twin sister, Lisa, and I were the daughter's of the infamous "Walker Pass Lodge." If it were possible, I would like to resurect the business and bring it back to life after so many years. The twin lives in Virginia now and I hope to be back to Ridgecrest within a year.

I saw the link for Burroughs High School, and the year 1970. There were a lot of pictures that I took as Senior Photographer for the El Burro. The pictures of the queens (I think Jr/Sr Prom were taken at Red Rock Canyon. We had the rotated all of the girls in the stand alone shot for Queen. Very early on a Saturday morning.
