Posted back in 2005, looking for information on John Carricart, who among other things, co-founded Junction Ranch with Domingo Etcharen.
John was killed in 1946 while in Los Angeles by a Navy munitions truck, bitter irony as at the time the Navy had appropriated Junction Ranch as a weapons test range, and he was working there as a caretaker.
John was friends with one Elizabeth Mecham, who wrote extensively about the residents of the region. These writings where donated to the museum at Independence. He was also believed to be a friend of, or at least an acquintance of, Pete Augereberry, John, Pete, and Domingo Etcharen were all Basque immigrants.

The Class of 1966 will be having it's 45th class reunion in Ridgecrest on October 8th 2011. We are searching for classmates around the Ridgecrest area and throughout the country.

I visited my Uncle Ray's Gill's Oasis gas station/cafe near Olancha as a youngster in the 50-60's. I don't have any and was looking for any photos that may available.
