I do remember the rocks the haystack the mini crater(off old 395) as a teenager my good friends Alice Antu Laura Mahan Mel Vokolec for the most part we went to burros high then I was at Mesquite I helped with the mural one of my best times in school. I married Dean Howard in 78 had Patrick in 79 then Cristy in 80. I left town with Tim Allen in 83 went to San Diego for a year had Kenneth Allen in 84 went right back to R/C. It was great growing up there most of my family still lives there. I worked at JDs for 2 years also at the MALE BOX mens clothing store. My first job was with Kirby Vacumes ran by Bill Bigalow and wife he was a freak the job didnt last but i was only 14 so that was ok. I went to Murray and Monroe and Ms Rolfs was my history teacher she was the best. Ms Lawlor was spanish she was something else.It was Rocky Gardners first year as principal Mr Brewer was vice. We would always get caught smoking and sneeking over to the OLD PARK. yes they were good times.

Want to thank Pat for putting the site together. My dad moved the family to R/C in 1955 and enjoyed it until he (Kenneth M. Smith) closed his law practice and retired sometime in the 90's. Even so he still often drove over from Bakersfield to visit long time friends. I still visit once or twice a year to take my former neighbor Don Sprouse out to a steak dinner.

Great early days living at China Lake, enjoyed my music career, the Glen Biggars award, working at KRKS and KRCK. travelled the world thanks to the US Army.
Now retired law enforcment, love living at the beach, cycling, my vacation home in Costa Rica "Pura Vida"
