Comments:
I grew up in Ridgecrest, my dad (Jim Harinek) had been in the Army (Before I was born) and my mom ( Barbara Wieszchowski)was a homemaker/mom while I was growing up. My whole family lives in Ridgecrest and I get to see them at least 1x a year. I worked for John's Pizza (while I was going to school) where I fell in love with the Peanut Butter Pizza and the No Bake Chocolate cookies in the cupcake wrappers. Got hooked on motorcycles and BMX bikes. Then the divorce and the marriage to Linda Fortney when I was 13. I then got 4 brothers and a sister - What Fun!! Not an only child anymore!!

Ridgecrest is great - not much to do - but we always had things to do. When I come back to visit I get bored considering Colorado has so many choices. When your from a small town with limited things you respect it more.

Love the drive thru dairy down the street from Monroe School. Its grown so much since I have left but it will always be Ridgecrest...

Drives with my dad growing up to Trona shooting the shot gun at soda cans (cant do nowadays or at least in Colorado) and pickled eggs pass Inyokern.. Drives to Lake Isabella especially in the summer... Lots of Fun...

hi, i just got this web site from one of my sons and have checked it out today. it is nice to read all about ridgecrest. i have moved from there in 1997 but keep coming back very often because i have one son that still lives there and 2 grandkids that live in kernville. i also have friends that i love to visit.   i worked at richmond school (annex) for 7 years as a teacher's aide and bus monitor.  i really  did enjoy  living in ridgecrest and wasn't ready to move when my husband had to leave china lake to go to a different base in northern california.  but i am happy every time i come visit the place.    thanks for this great web site.    maria foster

I have always loved the place since the frist day I got there
and I hope to retire there in the future I had many good friends
and many more great memories
my wife is from there and her family grew up in that town
there Grandfather helped bring little league baseball to the town
he had several businesses there to like GranGood lumber
and other things he did for the base.his name was Granvill Brents

I enjoyed looking briefly at this document...I need to look through again, searching for stories about my grandparents, Joseph & Agnes Olson, "Miracle of Charm" Beauty Salon, in the Olson Building (next to MidWay Cafe), and my parents, Jackie and Norm Jeglum, owners of the Music Man/Sierra Music'  I would think that my sister, Nellavan Jeglum, currently living in Ridgecrest, would also be included.  I plan to return to Ridgecrest after I retire.
