To many memories!  Great site, thanks for your work.
James mentioned the Band with Steve Zessos, I remember them well.  While Steve was drumming the guys would start tearing down his drums and moving them across to other side of stage.  Steve would never miss a beat, as he continued to drum on anything , as he crossed the stage.  He was our "Stevie Wonder".

I loved reading all the new posts. I read one from Annette Peyton Craver and emailed her. We were friends in 66, so it was neat to see her post. I also emailed a man who may have been in VX5 at the same time as my husband. Maybe they knew each other?? I love this site and come in here whenever I am homesick...I mean really bad homesick....cause like, I am homesick all the time, so if I came in here every time I was just plain old homesick I would be in here 24/7!! hahaha! Well, now this site has probably helped me reconnect with another old friend. Yeehaw! as they say in Texas. Thanks again, Pat, for your dedication here! love, Pam

I was in the navy and stationed at China Lake from 1993 to 1997.

My best memories are going into Ridgecrest to Shannigens which used to be the Golden Frog. My favorite places to eat were Carls JRS., the hamburger joint were you cou could get hamburgers for 25 cents and Two sisters.

I remember the flash flood we had in 84 or 85 . A friend and I were going to Lancaster for a movie and we never made it past the two sisters restaurant we could see the rain coming and turned around and went home.

I spent many times in Kennedy Meadows and stopping at Grumpy Bears for a beer and the best jerkey I ever had.

As a Brit recently imported into the USA I have no experience of either small town America or the high desert, I am going to be visiting China Lake for the Burrough High School reunion in November 2006 so I have been avidly reading this wonderful web site!

Some of you may know my friend John Quense, he graduated in the class of 1960 and was "one of the triplets" his identical brother Eric and sister Nancy lived in China Lake three different times when their father was stationed at the Naval Base.

I am so looking forward to the visit and seeing some of the places he has such happy memories of. This was quite a trip down memory lane for him last night when we found this web site, many happy memories relived.  Thanks to all the contributors for a job well done.
