Comments:
I lived in R/C till I was 22 years old. I then moved to Las Vegas and then on to Corpus Christi, Tx, where I now reside.
I spent my entire life in R/C wanting to leave, to escape. Now I find myself missing it, wanting to go home! I have a small amount of family still there and very few friends are left. However, Ridgecrest will always be HOME no matter how many years I am away!

Take Care and GOD BLESS!!

My grandparents adopted me and my Grandfather (dad) was a chief petty officer at China Lake in the early 70s.  We lived in Trona but one of my fondest memories is when my kindergarten class went to see my dads squadron at VX-5 and all the trips to the commisary/naval base to shop (like there was ANYTHING in Trona!!!! ha/ha)  My grandparents died in 1991 and would have been in thier early 80's now, and I miss them tremendously.  Your website brought back so many memories....especially the shark rocks!!!!!!  Wow, I havent seen that in years!  You brought a smile to my heart.  Thank

This email is for anyone who knew my grandpa, George Sutherlen.  I never had the opportunity to meet him, since he past away before I was born.  My grandmother, Maxine is still alive and tells us grandkids all the crazy things are grandpa use to do.  If any of you has stories to share about my grandpa I would love to hear them.  Thank you,
Sarah Sutherlen

I was born at the NOTS Naval Hospital, lived on Ellis and Independence st. Went to the base schools graduated from BHS in 69. Worked at the Green Cottage Caf'e for Mr & Mrs Hanhart with Don Peters, Tom McCallen and Jim Curran. I was also a employee of Genge and Comarco.

My memories of the High Desert experience: The day the twins moved to town (patty and Mikie), warn summer nights at the Drive-in, burgers at Tine's and A & W. Wind and Dust for the weekends and local events. The annual replacement of the car windshield (wind damage) and driving to and from Bakersfield for Collage in the old 64 ford falcon. Best of all the day in 73 I packed all my worldly belongings in a 64 VW Bug and moved to Sacramento. I still visit my Desert Rat Sisters and Brother in the area for a few days of High Desert Nostalgia. Seeing the Web site with all the names and memories from the past makes you wish you could go back to a simpler time and place...GREAT JOB on a GREAT SITE!!
