my husband, mike buhlert, and my dearest friend

rhoda (howell) tomczak are both from ridgecrest.

i have been to ridgecrest only once, when my husband

and i took a day trip there.  he visited all of his old

haunts as he gave me the grand tour.  anyway, i

have always thought ridgecrest must be a great place

since the two most importent and special people in my

life spent their formitive years there.  also, very

impressive website you have built.

I was a police officer in Ridgecrest for about five years. It was during the Vietnam War, flower children, long hair and drugs. But out of those times I remember good people some still friends today. Many that I called friend I found have died and I wish I could have talked to them just one more time.

I have been fortunate in that I have traveled world wide since Ridgecrest and have met and made many new friends. But all of them at some time or another have heard about Ridgecrest California. I always liked you, still do.

I moved to Ridgecrest at the age of ten in 1968.  I moved away when I was 19.  I never returned until 2003.  A  mistake.  I realized how much I had missed her and recalled all the great times I had there.  I call Ridgecrest my home town.  Most of my friends have moved away throughtout the years, but we all share that one connection.  The magic of those summer nights  The air was warm and the skies so clear.  We all took to crusing the blvd. on a Sat. night.  Stopping off at McDonalds for a drink and trying to look as cool as possible.  Ahh, what a time we all must have had...
