I worked at KLOA as a disc jockey and program director.
I would like to hear from anyone who may remember me or listened to me on the radio.  Great memories.  Contact me through this site.

Didnt know anything about this page. I am very happy that I stumbled across it.
I was born and raised here , never moved away.My parents Dennis and Ruby Garrett lived here until they passed. Ridgecrest has changed so much since I was growing up but one thing is still the same , its a small town regardless of the changes being made and I am so glad I was brought up here now and even more so that I have raised both of my boys here in our small town.

What a great site! My grandparents, Harry and Kathleen Simpson, moved to China Lake in the '40s with my dad (Jim) and uncle (Bob). My dad graduated from BHS in the early '50s. I was born in Ridgecrest in 1963 and lived there until we moved to Washington in 1975.

I was born in the Ridgecrest hospital in 1962 and grew up in Ridgecrest until I left for college after graduating from Burroughs HS in 1980.  It has been interesting reading all the stories.  My dad worked on the base and my mom taught school at Las Flores elementary which was just down the street from where we lived on Mary Ann St.  We moved there out of base housing when I was 4 and I lived there until I left for college.  I went to Las Flores, James Monroe and Burroughs HS.  I remember playing outside all the time and wandering around in the desert catching horny toads and lizards.  I remember having contests with the other kids to see who could walk the slowest barefoot across the street in the middle of summer when the asphalt was squishy from the heat.  John's Pizza was a favorite hang out.
