I try to visit Ridgecrest at least once a year. I call it my California fix. I have so many friends and relatives still living in the R/C area that my year is'nt complete without a visit.
I started teaching art and US History at Mesquite high school in 1975, transferred to Burroughs high school when Mrs Williams retired, taught art for Burroughs, Murrary Jr.High,Monroe Jr.High and Cerro Coso extentions.I retired in 1998 moved to Arkansas.
Guess I wasn't ready to retire as I've been teaching art at the Yellville-Summit high school these past four years.
My friend Rosie sent me this link and I open it often just to remember. Thanks Anieta

Wow, what a great site. Found it doing some research for a story on now-defunct drive ins. Great job! Definitely paints a clear picture of Ridgecrest life and town.

I WAS STATIONED AT NWC CHINA LAKE FROM 1988-1991, AND WAS NOT SURE IF I WAS GOING TO LIKE LIVING IN THE DESERT, SINCE MOST SAILORS DON'T EXPECT TO BE PUT IN THE DESERT, BUT I LIKED IT AND I MISS THE MOJAVE DESERT.

Ridgecrest is my hometown. I moved away in 1993 even though I have been gone for 11 years, I still consider Ridgecrest my home and always will. I have so many great memories. I love this site, thank you.
