Are you willing to help with stories? If I can...
Comments: I'm leaving the MSM after 40 years, 250 F1 races, 25 wars and 2 stints as a civilian POW - - - What cost was there in being a shooter with 9 papers and 5 agencies = Far to much.
When I was at the DI working for Patty Burnett (now a doc. in Denver area, Cliff Urseth (who lost a grandson this past winter, I was saddened to hear just last month) and all of you I went to LA for some years and then to the world. Over a hundred countries has led me back home to the central coast of California, but I still carry a camera every day and remember the times of Ridgecrest with a smile!
I'm looking a woman who worked for the Daily Independent in 1974 who was then a senior in HS at Burroughs - Donna Bridges!
Can anyone help me. I have contact with dozens of people from that era if you need some help - ask...
Kindest to you all;

Comments: My father, Norman Wyman, started in 1946 at NOTS. He was working out of the Pasadena Annex. Some of my greatest memories are the Armed Forces Day open house events as a kid. Dad retired May 2,1986 after 40 years of service to the Navy. A few trips to China Lake as a kid, it was like going to Disneyland for me. I remember seeing a F-4 Phantom for the 1st time. It was in 1963 I think, but for me it's like yesterday. My dad was very proud of all the people he worked with over the years. He always said that it was a dream job. Morris Dam range is long gone, but not the fine history of naval weapon research of all those who lived and worked to serve this county. I thank all who have sent countless hours to keep this history alive.

Best place in the world to grow up. All you needed to fit in was a desert tortoise, a coffee can of marbles and, perhaps, a red racer snake. Great days of dirt clod fights in our desert made forts. Visiting Mrs. Merediths cactus garden down the street on Haloid where I lived. Kick the can, and hide n seek in the vacant lot next to the Crow's house. Everybody wanted to trick or treat at Mrs. Spooner's house because she gave the best candy. Swimming in the Dietrichson's pool before they moved to Rocket Town. Being terribly afraid of Mr. Brewer, don't remember why, but loving his pool in the summer. The awful green band uniforms at James Monroe, so hot.....Endless summer nights, sudden rain storms, beautiful spring desert blooms, icy night air, hot summer days, tamarisk (salt) trees, playing war with the boys (they let us be nurses), scary ol' bats swooping down on us in the gloaming, shooting stars, the Blue Angels every year, and the list goes on and on. Do I love Ridgecrest, yes I do.

The 4th of July at the Fairgrounds. I guess Ridgecrest is the only place that had Pie Eating Contests and Vaseline Poles with money. I love my memories had a lot of them.
