Still in South Dakota, forced Chy Grabowski (90 Grad) to move here from California... Have a DJ Biz... (cant grow up yet...) spent 7 years serving my country, got broke and got out. Working on owning a second company. Just finished my Bachelor of Science in Business Management, going for my second and then on to my Masters. Have two kids, divorced and HAPPY! drop me a line....

I just loved this site and have it w/my favorites. I also shared it with some friends. Mainly I first was just looking at the petryglyphs, since I live in an area that has many pictographs & petroglyphs. You have beautiful photos.

My uncle was the owner/operator of Hamel's furinture store in Ridgecrest. I remember visiting and spending many nights in Ridgecrest when I was growing up. We would go to John's Pizza just about every time I visited. I distinctly remember John's because where else can you get peanut butter as a pizza topping!? Even though I grew up in Palmdale (which back in the late 60's and 70's wasn't exactly a major town) I still felt somewhat like a "city slicker" whenever I went to Ridgecrest. Alas eventually my Uncle sold Hamels Furniture and moved to Temecula where he lives to this day. I performed in a High Desert Honor Band at Ridgecrest High when I was a Sophmore at A.V. High School back in 1983 and until last year (2004) I had not been back to Ridgecrest . I was there last year for New Years and will be there again this year performing at the Carriage Inn on China Lake Blvd. I always go to see the old location of Hamel's Furniture and a couple of my Uncle's old houses when I go back for nostalgia sake.
Thanks for this site it brought back a little of my younger days. Great info and pics! Keep up the good work!
