Comments: I have very fond memories of my time at R/C and China Lake. I hadn't been there for 9 years and visited there 3 times last year! It's good to see the town beginning to rebound again.

Comments: I first came to Ridgecrest/China Lake in Dec. 1964 as a Navy wife. We spent two years there and then were transferred to the Philippines. Upon our return and separation from the Navy we returned to Ridgecrest to make it our home in late 1968. We lived in the new Deeter Tract of homes on Trisha Ct. It was a wonderful place to raise children. After a divorce, I moved to Ventura, but I eventually returned to live in Ridgecrest in 1985. In 1994 I took an early retirement and moved to Oregon where Jim and David live. Jim graduated from Burroughs in 1974 and still has friends there as do I. Ken graduated in 1972. Sharon graduated from Monroe Jr. High in 1973, and David was in grade school at that time. I have to say I do miss the desert/mountains and the small town atmosphere. I look forward to future visits.

Comments: Loved the photographs...my father is a life time resident of Ridgecrest and we love it there. My husband and I enjoy visiting Ridgecrest and taking in the beautiful desert sights. We love the smell of a good desert rainfall in the R/C valley...it is beautiful.

Comments: Thank you for this excellent Internet site! I moved to China Lake in 1950, like a lot of my age group (Class of '58), dads were WWII GIs and we came from the Midwest and Southwest, and a few from most every other part of the country. In a way we started our own history, like colonizing an unsettled land, and looking back that has given us an unusual bond. I lived on the base, behind the fence, and with the start of high school met all the others our age from Ridgecrest, who became some of the best friends over the years. I vist family there fairly often and sometime see familiar faces. And now I have this site to visit.
